Hey everyone, Brandon Damon from Aux Cinema here! I’m thrilled to share a behind-the-scenes look at my latest project, the music video for Buddy DeBray’s heartfelt new single, “No Chaser.” Buddy, a rising star in the country music scene from the Midwest, brought a lot of soul and warmth to this shoot, and I’m excited to tell you all about it. As soon as I met him and his friends at the filming location, they accepted me into the group right away.

I had the pleasure of hanging out with Buddy and his closest crew on the stunning Lake Higgins in Michigan. The weather was perfect—warm water, clear skies, and a setting that was ideal for both swimming and shooting. My role involved capturing the action from both ground level and the sky, with the help of a drone to showcase the beautiful Michigan scenery and the lively atmosphere of the crew. I directed the group around Higgins to capture the lake , and boat. We’d eventually go back to the cabin and film the quiet fireside shots with the couple.

The days energy was infectious. The crew was in high spirits, ready to party and make the most of the shoot. As we filmed, I was struck by the meaningfulness of Buddy’s song. “No Chaser” isn’t just a track about a wild night out; it’s a more intimate reflection on seizing moments and connections that could turn into something special. Seeing Buddy’s genuine reactions and his desire to include his friends in the video was inspiring. It was clear that the song meant a lot to him, and this influenced the creative direction of the shoot.

The latter half of the video features some heartfelt flashback edits. These were added to capture the essence of Buddy’s song, which, while not an all-out party anthem, reflects on personal connections and potential love. I wanted these edits to complement the emotional depth of the track, adding a nostalgic touch that resonates with the lyrics.

All in all, it was an amazing day filled with great music, beautiful scenery, and meaningful moments. Buddy DeBray’s “No Chaser” is a testament to the power of country music and the connections we cherish. I’m grateful to have been a part of this project and to have shared these experiences with Buddy and his fantastic crew.
